Call for Abstracts
2026 Tri-State Pathology Conference
Hosted by the Alabama Association of Pathologists — October 24–25, 2026, in Orange Beach, Alabama.
Who Can Submit
- Open only to pathology residency and fellowship programs in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana.
- Limit of 2 submissions per author.
- Abstracts previously submitted or presented elsewhere are welcome, if presented within the past year.
- A current CV must be included — submissions without one will not be reviewed.
How to submit: You may submit by emailing your abstract, CV, and completed submission form to Stacie Johnson at sjohnson@medicalbureau.net, or submit online using the form below. You’ll receive confirmation of receipt within 2 business days — if not, call 706-738-3119.

Research Awards
Accepted abstracts are eligible to compete for one of three Tri-State Pathology Conference Research Awards.
Registration
Presenters must register for the conference. The fee is waived for one author per abstract; travel and accommodations are the presenter’s responsibility. Details will post at https://www.alpathology.com
Formatting Your Abstract
- 10-point Times New Roman. Title, authors, and affiliation must appear on the Word file and the submission form.
- Template size: 6.5″ wide x 5.28″ high (portrait). Margins: 0.25″ top/right/left, 0.29″ bottom.
- Approximately 403 words / 2,837 characters (including spaces).
- Title: brief, bold, ALL CAPS.
- Authors: initials and last names only; italicize the presenting author’s name.
- Affiliation: institution, city, state, separated by semicolons — e.g., N. Varshney, *UMMC, Jackson, Mississippi.
Formatting Your Poster
- Poster board area: approximately 4ft x 3ft, portrait orientation only — oversized or landscape posters cannot be accommodated.
- Structure like a research paper: abstract, introduction, methods, results, conclusion (clinically-oriented posters may vary).
- Use bullet points, large type (36-pt headings, 24-pt body minimum, never below 18-pt), and graphs or figures to keep it visual and easy to scan at a glance.
